Soil Management Plans: Copy Proposals and Comments

In order to facilitate the quick creation of Soil Management Plans in Contour, particularly across large field groups, this Contour release includes the ability to copy management proposals or comments to multiple fields with a few clicks.

Here’s how:

  • Once management proposals have been selected for a field, or comments have been added, a duplicate symbol will appear to the side:
  • Selecting either of these will load a modal where you can select the fields you want those management proposals or comments to be copied to.
  • We have intentionally made this process quick and easy to copy information to fields of the same crop, as often management practices will be the same across a crop. You can filter the field list by crop type, and then use the Select all icon to select all fields of that crop, either on a single farm or across all farms included in the SMP:
  • Once the appropriate fields have been selected, click “Copy to selected”. This will return you to the main SMP page, where you can check the copied items on the selected fields and continue filling out the plan.
  • If you try to save a plan with data missing, the page will highlight where fields don’t have the correct data or don’t have at least one management proposal.
Following your feedback:

  • Following your feedback, we have changed the slope calculation to use the average slope rather than the max slope of the field.
  • SMP creation for some farms was failing due to issues with zone geometry. The tool can now cope with these geometries without failing.
